Harley-Davidson news for EICMA 2018

Will they present THE electrical motorcycle?

EICMA is the largest and oldest international motorcycle exhibition that first started in 1914 and achieved significant success through century.
It always represents all modern trends and technological achievements in the industry, therefore each major motorcycle producer take part in the fair by all means, showing concepts and new production models, representing the full range of motorcycles and scooters.

EICMA 2018 is from 6^th to 11^th, in Milan – Rho Fiera. The days 6^th and 7^th are reserved for press and trade operators, from 8^th is open for general public.

Aftermarket components, accessories and apparel companies, tire producers, race teams and custom workshops strive to be represented on this world known event. For the 76^th edition, 1200 brands from 42 different countries are confirmed to come to Milan and show their latest achievements, boast future projects, build up new businesses connections and, most important, intercommunication with the customers, the final users of the whole industry.

This year the event is coming out of the pavilion with many appointments all over Milan urban area.

The formal slogan of EICMA 2018 is “We see roads that don’t exist yet”. The official picture shows futuristic two-wheel machines and their riders observing our beloved Earth and Moon from the surface of some exoplanet, that orbits dangerously close, frankly speaking, but who knows what technologies will appear in future.

This year Harley-Davidson come with some powerful announcements for its fans.

What is really expected is the fact that the American from Milwaukee will finally introduce the Harley Davidson LiveWire, the new and powerful easy-to-ride premium motorcycle.

This all-new fully electric model, previously only seen as a prototype, will be presented in its commercial version and ready to be produced. It will be available in the market in 2019.

This revolutionary concept was developed few years ago and was in a pre-production status, preparing the motorcycle community for the giant bounce of the world’s most conservative brand.

Let’s wait few more days and meet the newcomer, that have already earned flattering reviews of journalists and independent test riders.

Of course, we will see the full range of production models, including the new drag racing inspired Power Cruiser FXDR 114 with MILWAUKEE-EIGHT 114 engine and, hopefully, the new line of concept bikes – adventure tourer, naked street bike and new generation classic custom bike, that will expand the market for the Harley-Davidson, inviting new bikers, and give brand’s addicts chance to try different machines without losing their religion.

For the true Harley lovers, EICMA 2018 will also be the venue for the announcement of the 2018 Battle of the Kings competition winner, that is the world’s largest dealer custom build-off, with custom specialists in over 300 Harley-Davidson dealerships around the world. Dealers were challenged to build a custom Harley-Davidson using a maximum of 50% of the donor retail price as the total customization budget. Grand finalists from Thailand, Australia and Italy have been selected to be displayed on the Harley-Davidson stand.
