What is Distinguished Gentleman Ride?

Motorcycle community and brotherhood should not be just a word. Helping one in need on and off the road should not be just a declaration.

Sometimes we are immersed in the routine too much and forget this simple truth. Luckily there are people who cares and help us not to forget.

Back in 2012 Australian Mark Hawwa, inspired by the photo of a rider in fine suit on a classic bike, held the first Destinguished Gentleman’s Ride – a themed event to fight the often negative man on a motorcycle stereotype.

Bringing together 2500 riders in 64 cities, the event’s success pushed Mark and allied to use it to supporting something worthy. Since that time The Destinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a world known campaign raising funds to support awareness of prostate cancer and male mental health charities.

People are welcome to put on their best tailored suites and ride their classic style bikes, cafe racers, scramblers, choppers, bobbers, trackers and classic scooters. What is also important is to have good manners and sense of humor, to be funny but not comically serious.

The run has already raised over 12,5 million dollars and goals to add further 6 million in 2018 with over 120.000 riders in more then 650 cities worldwide. Great increase in numbers and event’s recognizability brought some serious sponsors. British Triumph Motorcycles and Swiss Zenith Watches are the main support from many years.

30 September 2018, save the date. Free Spirits team will be present in Vicenza Section, that will start at Vicenza official Triumph dealer Triple Bike (http://www.triumphvicenza.it/) and will run around the local zone with the buffet stop at “Podere LaTorre” in Schio (https://poderelatorre.com/).
