Are you worried about mounting a de-cat to your Triumph?

A small story to tell you something about mounting point on frame for de-cat kit

Today we wanted to share with you the story of Luke, a customer of us that kindly granted some minutes to tell his adventure!

“Few days ago, I was looking for some parts in order to improve my new Triumph Street Cup.

My curiosity had been immediately caught by the de-cat. Small expense, good deal!

I saw lots of producers making this kit, but only one attracted my attention. The Free Spirits X-Pipe.

Unlike to the others, in the website description, is written that it retains OEM mounting points and prevents premature failure of your header pipes. Why should they write this thing? Don’t the others mount directly on the OEM mounting points? How could it broke headers?

Curious about this, I asked information to my trusted mechanic.

After some analysis, he said that Free Spirits kit is the only one that has to be fixed in the bike frame and not principally on headers. What does this mean? I asked to my mechanic.

He told me that the exhaust can be divided into three parts, the manifolds, the catalyst and the slip-on.

The manifolds are fixed on the engine, and the slip-on on the chassis, this to ensure a stable position. If the catalyst part is fixed in the center without anchors in the chassis, it may cause some vibration that will broke, eventually, the manifolds attach in the engine. This problem can be solved spending a lot of money.

This damage may not occur immediately but as time goes by.

With clear ideas I instantly decided to buy X-Pipe from Free Spirits. After all, do you want a product that may cause damages to your bike?”
